EN 13704-Sporicidal activity under use conditions. UNE-EN 13704: 2002. Chemical disinfectants. Quantitative suspension test for the evaluation of sporicidal activity of chemical disinfectants used in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas. Test method and requirements (phase 2, step 1).
Test accredited by ENAC (National Accreditation Entity).
This test organism used as mandatory is Bacillus subtilis spores and additional and optional Bacillus cereus spores or Clostridium sporogenes. The test should be performed at a temperature of 20ºC and for a mandatory time of 60 minutes. It can also be done with optional additional temperatures of 4, 10, 40 or 75ºC, and optional additional times of 5, 15 or 30 minutes. The test is performed in a clean condition. The product should be tested at least three concentrations including one in the non-active interval and another in the active interval. The product can be assayed by the method of filtration-neutralization, or by the membrane filtration method. To consider the product sporicidal must demonstrate a log reduction of 3 in the number of viable spores.
