EN 1650: 2019Quantitative suspension test for the evaluation of fungicidal activity of chemical or yeasticidal disinfectants and antiseptics used in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas. Test method and requirements (phase 2, step 1).

Test accredited by ENAC (Spanish National Accreditation Entity), for standard mandatory microorganisms and additionals.

The test organisms used as required brasiliensis Candida albicans and Aspergillus brasiliensis, and as optional for some specific applications Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The test should be performed at a mandatory temperature of 20ºC and for a mandatory period of 15 minutes. It can also be done with optional additional temperatures of 4, 10 or 40ºC and optional additional times for 1, 5, 30 or 60 minutes. The test can be done under clean or dirty conditions. The product should be tested at least three concentrations including one in the non-active interval and another in the active interval. The product can be assayed by the dilution-neutralization method or by membrane filtration method. To consider fungicidal the product must show a log reduction of 4 in the number of viable cells
