This test uses four suspensions of bacteria (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus hirae) which are added, respectively, to the product under evaluation. For products intended for handwashing diluted in hard water and maintained at 20ºC for times of 5 min, 1 min to 30 seconds, depending on the applications and recommendations from the manufacturer. After neutralization, the method dilución- neutralization, or filtration if this alternative is used, the number of surviving bacteria must be reduced by 103with products for hygienic handwashing and 105 for products for surgical handwashing or hygienic handrub.
